Thirty days, flat: the discipline of a hard deadline

MAR 31 2025 · 6 MIN READ · THE BLUEGREY JOURNAL

We guarantee go-live within 30 days of kickoff. Not "typically". Not "depending on complexity". Thirty days, period — and every app we’ve funded has beaten its second instalment out the door.

The obvious question: how can any studio promise a date before it has seen the project? The answer is that the promise isn’t the brave part. The scoping call is.

During that one call, we cut. Ruthlessly. A 30-day build cannot contain a 90-day wish list, so we separate "day one" from "day ninety" while everyone is still excited and nobody is yet attached. Whatever survives the cut is, by construction, buildable in a month.

The guarantee then does its real work: it disciplines us. There is no comfortable slipping, no quiet extension, no "the client is reviewing". The date is public, printed on the quote, and the client’s second instalment arrives right behind it.

New features requested mid-build can move the date — that’s physics, not policy. But the original scope has never missed. Thirty days, flat. It turns out the best way to hit a deadline is to make it impossible to be vague about.
